Presenter's Biography

Dr. Giordano is Chair of the Department of Health Services Research, Chair Ad Interim of Health Disparities Research, and Professor of Medicine in Breast Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a board certified medical oncologist and health services researcher. She has expertise in research using data from cancer registries, administrative claims, and in performing data linkages. Her research focuses on comparative effectiveness research (CER) in breast cancer patients to study short-term toxicity of cancer treatment and late effects of therapy with over 150 publications. She is Co-Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Advanced HER2 Positive Disease Guidelines Committee and was previously the Chair of ASCO Clinical Practice Guideline Committee. She now serves as the Co-Chair of ASCO Breast Cancer Guidelines Advisory Group.
