2009 ASCO Tumor Boards: Ovarian Cancer

In November, Beth Karlan, MD, John Schorge, MD, Annekathryn Goodman, MD, and Andrew Li, MD, focused on a patient with advanced ovarian cancer. Specifically, the patient case covered the following learning topics:

The role of tumor biomarkers, diagnostic imaging, and physical symptoms in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer.
The benefits and rationale for cytoreductive or debulking surgery.
Treatment options for front line chemotherapy and the roles of intraperitoneal (IP) and intravenous (IV) chemotherapy.
Personalized patient management strategies for women with recurrent ovarian cancer.
