The ASCO Palliative Care MOC course consists of 30 multiple-choice questions which include patient case information, educational links and answer rationales. This activity provides an in-depth look at a broad spectrum of palliative care issues. Specific topics include physical symptoms, cognitive/phychosocial symptoms, last days of life, hospice care and administratince issues. This activity is a tool for self-assessment of medical knowledge as it relates to palliative care. After successful completion of this activity, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) diplomates are eligible to receive 10 points toward the required 20 in self-evaluation of medical knowledge. Participants can also earn a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify and address knowledge gaps toward improved competence in palliative care;
- Apply knowledge gained to the treatment of individual patients, as appropriate;
- Demonstrate participation in life-long learning and enhancement of knowledge as required in the ABIM Maintenance of Certification process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Palliative Care MOC course expires on August 1, 2016. Users must complete all necessary course components by this date to be eligible to claim MOC and CME credit.
