This case-based course co-sponsored by The National Brain Tumor Society focuses on medulloblastoma in pediatric patients. In particular, the module includes 3 interactive patient cases that examine how Medulloblastoma may present at different ages – infant, young child and young adult. Through these scenarios, faculty discuss the treatment, genetics, and late effects that relate to Medulloblastoma.
Learning Objectives:
- Enhance awareness regarding the epidemiology associated with medulloblastoma and apply knowledge to improve early diagnosis and treatment for pediatric patients.
- Examine the distinct molecular subtypes and varied presentation of medulloblastoma tumors for an infant, pediatric and young adult patient and apply where appropriate to inform treatment options.
- Examine the potential benefits and limitations regarding post-operative care and enhance awareness regarding the late effects associated with the management of medulloblastoma.
