Early Stage Lung Cancer: ASCO Tumor Boards

This is a case-based activity that includes discussion of A 71 year old female, former smoker who presents to her primary care physician (PCP) with worsening dyspnea, a non-productive cough as well as a 10 pound unintentional weight loss; she is found to have a right lowe lobe mass. Along with the patient case, there is a discussion board on ASCO Connection, where users can post comments/questions to each other and to the faculty.  At the end of this course you should be able to:

  1. Identify the role of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with NSCLC and apply it to the appropriate stages
  2. Effectively address whether there is a role for adjuvant therapy in the elderly
  3. Discuss the role, if any, of adjuvant carboplatin in patients who are cisplatin ineligible
  4. Examine how we integrate molecular profiling into treatment decision, if at all
  5. Evaluate the role and principles of SBRT in early stage lung cancer
