This ASCO University® course is designed to provide instruction on the unique treatment and management issues relating to the care of older patients with colorectal cancer. Two case studies, led by expert faculty, are presented.
- Identify appropriate adjuvant chemotherapy regimen for the older adult based on clinical assessment
- Incorporate comprehensive geriatric assessment principles in treatment decisions for the older adult
- Utilize appropriate treatment options for first line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer in the older adult
- Identify toxicities which are more common amongst older adults on chemotherapy for colorectal cancer
