Cancer Pain

One third of cancer patients will experience pain during their treatment and an even greater number of patients with advanced cancer will experience pain. It is important for oncologists to not only understand the etiology of cancer pain, but know how to manage it appropriately. In this course, participants will explore four practical case scenarios that address first and second line opioid therapies, as well as neuropathic and interventional pain management. Drs. Michael Fisch and Judith Paice discuss the cases and share their personal thoughts on effective management strategies.

Learning Objectives:

  • Utilize pain management strategies, when appropriate, for patients with cancer
